Maintaining the condition of an all-weather or hard tennis court is essential for prolonging its lifespan. Regular inspections and prompt repairs of minor issues can save money in the long run, as opposed to allowing the court to deteriorate to the point of needing extensive repairs. Keeping the court surface clean and free of debris is crucial, as well as immediately addressing spills or stains that occur. Proper footwear should also be worn on the court, as black-soled athletic shoes can leave permanent marks and hard-soled street shoes can cause damage. Activities such as roller-skating, skateboarding, and cycling should also be avoided as they can cause harm to the surface.

For pre-season maintenance, it's important to clear the court of any debris that has accumulated during the off-season. A broom or leaf blower can be used for this, but more stubborn stains may require power-washing. If using power-washing, take care to not use it improperly as it could harm the surface. When inspecting the court, look out for small cracks, divots, and any other irregularity. Check the net posts and the crank to make sure they're working correctly and that they're not under too much tension.

Regular maintenance is also important, debris and trash should be cleared immediately after a windy day to prevent staining. Placing walk-off mats at the entrance ways to collect dirt from shoes is also helpful. Spring time, when the surface collects excessive dirt or pollen, use a water hose to hose off the surface. Regularly trim the grass and landscaping around the perimeter of the court to permit proper drainage from rainwater. Use weed killer to prevent and control weeds that invade the court edges and remove standing water after a rainfall using a rubber squeegee or foam roller.

Lastly, for winterizing, it's important to take down windscreens and make sure no leaves remain on the court after the Fall season. Storing the tennis court net is the best option to make it last longer and look newer. If it's not possible to take down the net, at least release the tension to prevent the posts from tipping. In the event of snow or ice, don't try to remove it with shovels or salt it as it will damage the surface.
